Reviewing the Shot

16 Aug

While out with my camera not too long ago, I noticed that I wasn’t the only one taking advantage of the glowing evening light. The UT cheerleaders were having a photo shoot at Town Lake. A small crowd gathered to watch the photo shoot, and during breaks, small children would shyly go up to the [...]

Legs and Twinkle Lights

31 May

I took this picture at dusk one evening. There is a canoe and kayak rental nearby, and people often paddle under the bridge and dive into the Colorado River to cool off. As the weather gets hotter, this becomes more and more tempting.

This Season

24 May

Spring in Texas is the sweetest season. It is a precious window of warm afternoons, clear skies, cool breezes, and the occasional soaking rainstorm before a long, hot summer. It is also the season of flowers.

Snow

20 Feb

A couple of weeks ago, we had our annual snow day (singular). It was a whole inch of fluffy winter loveliness that yielded a much appreciated (albeit probably unnecessary) Friday at home.

The challenge this week was to take a photo at night that appears to have been taken in the daytime. This was a perfect weekend project because Chris and I are taking an [...]

Office Supplies

19 Jan

I consider flowers and plants to be most important additions to a desk. Because Chris is the sweetest bumble doodle, he gave me flowers on a dreary, cold winter day. The bunch was so big, that they filled two vases. Although Chris shares my love of green things, he prefers a minimal workspace, so the [...]

January Leaves

19 Jan

After a lazy weekend of cold rain, the sun came out and it was glorious!

Ice Project

17 Jan

The photo challenge last week was ice.  I had a few birthday candles left over, and so several days ago froze a couple.  I experimented with floating the ice candles in water and then on different backgrounds of paper.  Because I collage, I have myriad scraps of paper for just such occasions.  This project confirmed that [...]
